Type SD, TD 21 SD damping spacers

The type DS and type TD 21 SD damping spacers are non-reinforced uniform profiled spacers. The SD spacer is foreseen for precast components, with the type TD 21 SD spacer foreseen for reinforced concrete monolithic components. The foam by the elastomer is only filler, preventing the components from joining during concreting.
Elastomer damping spacers are foreseen as acoustic insulation for stair flights and landings, work platforms as well as connecting platforms.
Using damping elastomer spacers as a component reducing the spreading of impact noise from flights of stairs to rooms adjacent to the stairwells, the stair flights should rest on landings using type SD and type TD 21 SD spacers. In order to for the insulation to be properly executed, the following conditions must be met:
a) the stair flight must not connect to the stairwell wall; for this purpose, an expansion joint must be maintained between the wall, and it must be protected, using appropriate insulating inlays and permanently elastic putty, against intrusion of mortar during erection of the building;
b) between the flight of stairs and the landing (platform) must be maintained an expansion joint; the execution and protection of the expansion joint in case of precast structures requires the introduction of protective measures analogous to item a) above;
c) the platforms and landings (including the first stair, if the top surface is at the same level as the landing) must have insulating floors (i. e. floating or elastic floor surfaces with a ΔLw coefficient equal to the factor of the utilised elastomer spacers); the floor edge must have an elastic wall insulation protected additionally by permanently elastic putty.
Weighted laboratory values for the impact level reduction factor (impact noise damping) ΔLw as a result of resting the stair flights on platforms (landings) using type SD elastomer spacers (thickness 10 mm) and type TD 21 SD spacers (thickness 10 mm) are:
for tension forces of 0,1 ÷ 0,3 MPa: ΔLw = 23 dB,
for tension forces of 0,4 ÷ 1,0 MPa: ΔLw = 24 dB.
According to Polish Standard PN-B-02151-3:1999, during construction, ΔLw values should be used reduced by 2 dB against laboratory values.
Type SD elastomer damping spacers are foreseen for damping vibrations and sounds in general construction buildings and industrial structures. They are characterised by very good elasticity.
Apart from damping vibrations and noises, the SD type spacers transfer loads from the supported components of up to 10 N/mm2 and deformations not exceeding ±4 mm (for a thickness of 10 mm), ±2 mm (for a thickness of 5 mm), and protect the edges of the adjacent components against damage. The type SD profiled spacers may also be used as linear spacers separating the precast components lying on top of each other, whereby the type TD 21 SD spacers serve as partitions between parts concreted at the construction site. They enable controlled transfer of loads and prevent non-clamping horizontal drift and turning of the supported structures. They prevent the emergence of excessive load eccentricity. At the same time, they equalise possible divergences of parallelity of the bearing surfaces.
Thanks to these properties, the emergence of excessive load eccentricity may be prevented, and appropriate bearing surface protection may be achieved. Any possible divergences of bearing surface smoothness are at the same time evened out.
Improvement of acoustic insulation against the case of use of standard elastomer spacers is: for 10 mm thick spacers (with tension from 0,1 N/mm2 to 1,0 N/mm2) - at least 28 dB. The best 'damping' parameters are achieved for a tension of 0,5 N/mm2 - 34 dB, for 5 mm thick spacers (with tension between 0,1 N/mm2 and 1,0 N/mm2) - at least 18 dB.

Vibration and noise damping dependence on the unit tension per spacer (10 mm thick damping spacer)

SD ribbed spacers are, due to their perfect noise dampening properties, well suitable for tensions from 0,1 N/mm2 to 1,0 N/mm2, allowing one to achieve dampening of vibrations and noises by at least 28 dB.
The best dampening parameters are achieved by loads of 0,5 N/mm2, with vibration and noise reduction by 34 dB.

 

Type SD elastomer damping spacer

Product description

The type SD elastomer damping spacers are manufactured in the shape of profiled bands. They are delivered in 10 running metre rolls with a width of 200 mm, they possess cuts allowing tearing away of bands having widths of 10 mm, 100 mm and 150 mm.

The standard type SD spacer comes in rolls with ten running metres. Cutting to size is possible.

Fire safety conditions

The non-reinforced linear elastomer spacers hold fire examination certificate no. LPP01-1256/12/200NP conducted by the Fire Research Department of the Polish Building Research Institute. According to the test report, the line spacers conform to the requirements for fire resistance class REI 120. When choosing spacers, one needs to consider the scope of spacer damage/degradation according to the table included in the Technical Approval, available at the website www.betomax.pl in the Downloads section.

TD 21 SD damper spacer

The type TD 21 SD damping spacer is foreseen for monolithic (in situ) components. The flexible foam by the elastomer is only filler.

Product description

The type TD 21 SD spacer is manufactured in two kinds for each thickness value, the dimensions of the additional foam may be freely selected.
