In case of construction of bridges or viaducts, the choice of appropriate equipment may decisively improve work and reduce the execution time of the entire investment. With respect to finishing works, such as construction of cornices, installation of site accessories (water drainage, lighting), for works carried out outside of the external outline of the structure or under the bridge deck plate, an appropriate mounting trolley is an advantageous choice. Such a device can also be used to conduct inspection or refurbishment work.
The company Forbuild offers four types of mounting trolleys, which are freely configurable depending on the requirements of the structure and the customer's needs. Our offer spans, beside purchase, also equipment rental.
Mounting trolley types:
The use of an appropriate trolley brings with itself numerous advantages. If support components for cornice formwork is concerned, the use of a mounting trolley is easier, quicker and cheaper as compared to traditional scaffolding. It provides the option of executing the works directly over the water. In case of inspections or refurbishment of the utilised sites, completely shutting down traffic is not necessary, because the moving trolley only takes up one traffic lane, with the remaining lanes free to serve vehicle traffic.
Installation and use
We offer the option of purchase or rental of mounting trolleys. In case of rental of a type MTW 72 trolley, the equipment can be delivered to your construction site within 48 hours from order placement. The trolley is delivered in parts, which are assembled by a Forbuild employee, appropriately trained and authorised in this regard. The mounting trolley is composed of four basic elements: The moving trolley with ballast, the boom, the bearing arm and the work platform. The ordering party must provide an appropriate crane for the purpose of unloading these parts from the delivery truck. Assembly of the trolley entails putting the individual components together accordingly (depending on the site measurements) and setting up the moving trolley parallel to the edge of the bridge deck plate. All that remains is lowering the work platform below the bridge level or directly below it with the winch. After the platform is set up appropriately, the boom must be secured using proper rods. After assembly, a trolley transfer protocol is drawn up, which includes information on the constituent parts of the mounting trolley and their condition, the place of assembly, user details and beginning date of rental. Re-assembly of the trolley or taking it apart are conducted in a similar fashion. All works on the mounting trolley: assembly, inspections or site refurbishment are carried out from the work platform. Allowable load on the work platform depends on the point of attachment of the load bearing arm to the boom. In the limit position, the platform load bearing capacity is 350 kg, and in the central position, the maximum load is 500 kg. Usage of the trolley should take place with adherence to OHS provisions in force during the use of bridges and elevated scaffolding. The mounting trolley user should have secured a ladder to descend from the deck plate on which the moving platform is located, down to the working area. Manual movement of the unit on the bridge is possible, as well as using powered vehicles. Precise arrangement is possible thanks to the use of a pair of turning wheels.
